I'm an undergraduate computer science student at San Jose State University graduating December 2022 passionate about learning new technologies and implementing them in interesting projects. I have had internships over the past 2 summers working at the NFL and NeuroLeap Corp. These experiences have helped me grow as a developer and have given me good real-world experience working as an engineer. I love challenging myself and connecting with people, so please reach out if you would like to chat! I'm currently seeking internships for Summer 2022.

Volunteering/Organizations

SOAR Tutoring

Co-Founder, President

October 2016 - March 2019

Co-founded a non-profit organization in hopes to educate and enrich the lives of young children while giving back to the community with donations to various charities. I received the opportunity to work directly several young kids and learned valuable skills and lessons. Communicated with parents and school district officials to keep program running smoothly. We also hosted coding camps in the summer where we taught kids of all ages the basics of coding in Python. This experience helped me understand the importance of volunteering and how small actions yeild big results.

Theta Tau

As the webmaster, my main goal is to continue developing our website to increase engagement and add new elements to improve the website.

Extracurricular Activities

Sports

I've always been a big sports fan and enjoy watching and playing many sports. My favorites would be basketball, football, and volleyball, but recently I have enjoyed getting into rock climbing and boxing as well. I currently am playing basketball and volleyball on Intramural teams at San Jose State and hope to participate in more sports in the future. My friends and I often get together to play spikeball and frisbee at school when we have time.

I am an avid sports fan as well. My favorite teams are the Dallas Mavericks and San Francisco 49ers. I routinely follow the NBA and NFL during their respective seasons.

Reading

I have recently begun reading more regularly and have made it a part of my daily routine. I've found reading to give me new perspectives and deliver information to me in a deeper way, as opposed to watching videos on the subject. It has made me more open-minded and made me more focused on my self-improvement. With reading, I have gained valuable skills in financial literacy which has set me up for a more secure financial future.

I primarily enjoy non-fiction books. Some of my favorites include Can't Hurt Me by David Goggins, Atomic Habits by James Clear, and Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl.

Weight Lifting

I first began lifting weights regularly back in November of 2018. When I started, I was overweight and had developed several unhealthy habits. Since then, I have consistently gone to the gym 6 days a week and have noticed big differences in all aspects of my life. I attribute most of my mental fortitude to weight lifting. I've found it important to relish in pain and began to understand the difference between motivation, which is ephemeral, and discipline which drives you to do work that will improve yourself. Mastering self-discipline has helped in my education, health, and boosted my confidence.

In addition, I have begun cooking my own food now. I have realized how important nutrition is, and now track my calories and macros daily to make sure I am on target for my goals. This has been an important skill as I have come to enjoy healthy foods and it has given me full control over what I put into my body.
